“I have naturally curly hair, so “natural” beach waves are not so natural for me,” she tells the magazine. “I like to braid my hair at night and then let it out the next day. And I also curl my hair with a flat iron. I actually think I’m the best hairstylist on the planet.”
It seems hard to imagine Nicole with bad hair but she admitted many moons ago to getting Brazilian Blowout's done for the past several years. “I’m very serious. I’m mixed, and it’s work to do my hair, so I learned how to do it well myself. I would be a hairstylist. I actually like to go to the salon and blow out people’s hair.”
Glamour: That is so funny. Do people tip you?Along with Winter Kate Nicole is also at the helm of two other lines, House of Harlow and the Nicole Richie Collection for QVC. When asked if she thinks of herself as a trendsetter she laughs at the notion. “No! My world is small. I have my circle of 10 friends, my kids, my family. None of them call me a trendsetter.”
Richie: No one tips me. [Laughs.] Or pays. That’s the next step.
While she was criticized for becoming dangerously thin after leaving The Simple Life where she had appeared on fresh out of rehab, these days Nicole seems to have found a balance between a changing body and keeping a good figure after two kids. This past year she married longtime boyfriend and father of her kids, singer, Joel Madden. Together they have Harlow who is four and a three-year-old son, Sparrow.
'I feel great about my body,' she says. 'You know, aesthetically I can be picky, but I choose not to. I’ve taken huge leaps. I’m proud of that. I work out, and I get lots of sleep, and so I feel great. And that is most important.'
