Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld. The remaining seven covers feature amusingly varied creative people doing the signature one-eyed wink.
The first teaser was of course, Raf Simons. The Belgian designer was very publicly ousted from his beloved label Jil Sander after the real Jil Sander stepped down. The reason for the dismissal? Jil felt like coming back to the label after an eight year hiatus. After Raf’s emotional tears and waves after the Jil Sander show at fashion week we (& pretty much the rest of the fashion world) couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to him.
Well there was an opening that just had him name on it- one not posted on craigslist. It was of course the gaping and awkward seat left behind by John Galliano. Galliano's mortifying fall from grace came after a horrendous, drunken anti-semitic rant caught on camera in Paris that resulted in his mustached self being hauled off to jail for ultimately causing a bar brawl. In April 2012 it was announced that Raf Simons would make a triumphant fashion return to showcase his amazing designs at the legendary maison of Christian Dior.
The rest of cover’s were granted to Arizona Muse, Andrew Garfield, Léa Seydoux, Felicity Hayward, Andrej Pejić and Dree Hemmingway, Agyness Deyn and Felicity Hayward.
If you think eight covers seems like a lot though, it is nothing to their massive twelve covers dedicated to Chinese New Year.
