Fashionable Faces- Jennifer Lawrence Mania + A Look Back At Her Incredible Style Evolution
Have you heard of that little indie movie coming out called The Hunger Games? The much hyped blockbuster has already created superstars of its young lead cast and more specifically the 21 year old star, Jennifer Lawrence. The film which will hit theatres next week has had Jennifer hitting the promotion bandwagon at late night and daytime talk shows, a series of mall tours (Hey Tiffany!) and at premieres from Paris to London and Los Angeles.
At the Paris premiere just a few days ago Jennifer wore a black backless Tom Ford dress with gold heels. Gold seems to be a running theme for the young star lately as she wore a golden Ralph Lauren gown to the London premiere and a geometrically cut-in stunning Prabal Gurung dress for the Los Angeles premiere.
The movie is based on a trilogy of books titled The Hunger Games written in first person and chronicle the life of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.
Since its initial release, the novel has been translated into 26 different languages and rights of production have been sold in 38 countries. While the much anticipated release date is next week, March 23 the sequel Catching Fire is due to be released on November 22, 2013.
In an interview with Moviefone Lawrence spoke about signing on to the trilogy of films for the next few years, "I actually can't wait to go back. It's a character I would love to revisit. I think if you sign on to the right franchise [you're OK], I don't feel like a slave to anyone." Speaking of franchises, did you know Jennifer previously auditioned for the lead role in Twilight? Personally we think Hunger Games is a much better fit for the actress who also starred in the acclaimed films like Winters Bone, The Burning Plain alongside Charlize Theron.
