Tastemaker- Hosting A Glam Oscar Party? Here’s What To Wear, Eat, Drink and More!

Oscar Statues Made Ahead Academy Awards KGiKGXp-ahQl
The 84th Academy Awards are this Sunday February 26 in Hollywood and like a great deal of the population across the globe we will be tuning in to see what everyone will be wearing and more importantly to whom those gorgeous gold statuettes will be handed to. If you are tossing around the idea of hosting an Oscar night viewing party we got a few simple tips to help prep for the big night.

To inspire your glam Hollywood festivities we have gathered some great inspirations on what to wear, appetizers and cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as a few Oscar themed games.

It’s important not to wear anything too “dressy” or uncomfortable but if you want to go there, well more power to you. Generally the idea is to wear some thing fun and glam, just cause the partay is at your house doesn’t mean you can’t dress up a bit for the occasion.

Of course what everyone will be nibbling on is key and for that we recommend easy yet elegant bite sized appetizers. It is a big hassle to worry about dishes and cutlery while enjoying a party and your guests will appreciate the variety of options versus a big bowl queso and Doritos. The cocktails are probably second most important for a successful party and you can make some super delicious simple drinks with champagne or gin and a little touch of citrus. We have to give much love and standing ovation to The Kitchn for our cocktail and appetizer recipes!

Aside from discussing all the action at the awards keep everyone busy with some themed games. Try How About Orange’s annual Oscar ballot and Oscar Bingo.
