Hollywood's golden night finally arrived on Sunday and the ladies did not disappoint. After countless facials, layers of makeup everyone finally arrived at the red carpet strapped snugly in their spanx and ready to flash a smile for their fans. From Milla Jovovich's drop dead gorgeous Ellie Saab gown to Best Actress Oscar Winner Meryl Streep's gold metallic Lanvin wrap-around number, fashion misses were definitely at an all time low- but more on those later. Lets start with the women who dazzled, flashed a pearly smile and recalled that old Ru Paul adage "You Better Work!."
Viola Davis who recently debuted her freshly dyed natural hair wore a bright green satin Vera Wang gown that looked absolutely fabulous. Gwyneth Paltrow looked great if not a bit rigid in a white gown designed by Tom Ford that had its own cape and perhaps more surprisingly both Michelle Williams and Tina Fey wore peplum gown a trend that has been going around lately. Peplum is a short overskirt attached at the waist of a fitted dress, jacket or blouse. Michelle looked perfect in bright red Lois Vuitton and Tina rock a navy strapless Carolina Herrera.
Glenn Close chose a midnight green Zac Posen dress with matching tuxedo jacket and Brides Maids actress Ellie Kemper a heavily sequined Armani Prive copper toned dress that oddly enough matched and looked good with her hair color. Rooney Mara continued her fashion winning streak and looked pretty in a white Givenchy gown that really stood out against her slightly goth looking jet black hair and dark red lips.
Of course everyone has been buzzing about Octavia Spencer lately and for good reason. The actress took home an Oscar for best supporting actress in The Help and wowed in a fantastically shimmering Tadashi Shoji gown fit for a winner.
