Runway Report- Backstage At Jean Paul Gaultier SS12 Haute Couture’s Homage To Amy Winehouse
The legendary Enfant Terrible of French fashion, Jean Paul Gaultier paid homage to the late singer Amy Winehouse for his Spring Summer 2012 Haute Couture collection in Paris. The models wore massive beehive hair some black as Amy’s hair was and some green or red with thick winged eyeliner. Several models, who wore Gaultier’s latest creations, also smoked cigarettes in tribute to the late British icon.
The makeup by Steven Marais and Hair by Odile was a perfect addition to the 1950’s style clothes nipped in the waist with bustier tops and pencil skirts just as the pop start was known to wear often. "Amy Winehouse was a true style icon," Gaultier explained to reporters backstage about his Winehouse-inspired collection.
