Fashion Lesson- Jason Wu Styles DJ Harley Viera-Newton In His Collection For Target + Q&A

The wait for Jason Wu’s collaboration for Target is almost over. With a little over a week left until the February 5th deadline Target celebrated the designer with a massive private bash in New York. Prior to attending the bash tonight, the designer spent time with NYC DJ Harley Viera-Newton and together they picked a dress for her to wear while spinning for the party.

Blake Lively, Chloe Moretz and Emmy Rossum all showed up to support and celebrate the launch of this much anticipated collection. If the Missoni for Target collaboration is any indication, we can safely say that mobs of women will be lining up outside to get their hands on these gorgeous creations. The draw is Wu’s beautifully designed pieces, it is clear that much thought went into each aspect in keeping with his aesthetic.

Target asked the designer some questions about his favorite pieces and how he describes his style.

Jason, why did you select this dress for Harley?
Jason Wu: The dress picked the owner! It had Harley’s name all over it, and is everything I think about her – it’s fun, chic and feminine.

We can’t wait for the collection! Do you have a favorite piece from the line?
JW: It’s hard to pick, but I’d say the black trench with the lace.

How would you describe your style?
HVN: Eclectic. I like to wear a lot of vintage, but mix in designer every now and then. My style is all over the place. My mother has been a huge inspiration to me. She’s super stylish, so I always try to emulate her in some way.

Jason, how will you prep for tonight’s event?
JW: I’ll work right until the last minute, and probably get ready in five minutes. It’s all about being a good host. I think it will be a lot of fun – I’m excited!

Tonight is sure to be memorable. Do you have a favorite fashion memory?
JW: When my mother gave me my first sewing machine when I was ten.
